Changing Trajectory

From the time we are born, we are on a journey forward. Some of us seem to realise this a little later than others, yet we all have a purpose for which we have been put on this planner; and for some, the journey lasts longer or shorter than others, for whatever reason. But what about the trajectory?

I have found myself thinking about the past couple of weeks, and how things seem to happen without any direct correlation to the other, yet time keeps ticking on. Despite our best plans, plans always change.

Yet the one thing that remains constant is life itself.

The Scriptures clearly show that the circumstances of life are not within our control – take the example of Job, for instance. He seemed to be doing everything right, but one day, it all went wrong. He remained steadfast, however, in his why – his purpose for living. And one day, it all changed.

Then Job replied to the Lord: I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.”

- Job 42:1-2

In other words, nothing changed Job’s purpose; no matter the hardships, the sickness, the loss, the desperation, the circumstances – it was all in God’s hands, and he knew that the purpose in the midst of the pain was worth enduring.

We too, can rest assured, knowing that our final trajectory is on the right course.
