Being in situations where scarcity is a reality is quite a frightening place to find ourselves in; but it happens to the best of us. As life’s trajectory is not always guaranteed, it is a constant reminder that things aren’t always as they appear to be.
I was recently driving home from our ReachAcross office, and there seemed to be a hundred thoughts and ideas hurtling through my mind. However, in the midst of my busy thoughts, the radio station interrupted my train of thought with an opportunity to win an amazing prize.
My first idea was to return to my original train of thought; but then I realised, this was the perfect opportunity to assist with my plans for our Annual Fundraising Dinner! As soon as I pulled into the driveway and backed into the garage, I went to my room and signed-up online.
The very next day, early in the morning, I received a phone call from the radio station, informing me that I had won. I was beside myself, and in the midst of my jubilation, I realised that my original train of thought had actually been about our fundraiser all along.
God certainly addresses our deepest thoughts, our random ideas, and our train of thought in mysterious ways, but He is always looking out for our best.
In Scripture, it says clearly that,
“You gave me life and showed me kindness, and in your providence watched over my spirit.”
- Job 10:12
For whether we are in moments of desperate need, or great abundance, He is always faithful to provide.
