On The Move

Do you often contemplate on the pace of our modern lives? I certainly do, and it seems that life doesn’t stop moving faster and faster with every fleeting moment. There are certainly moments in which I catch myself thinking, “where did all the time go?”

With our current focus at ReachAcross heavily pinned on the latter half of what remains of 2021, and gearing up for our yearly missions conference presentations, church missions’ focus, and, of course, our annual fundraising dinner, it can be a challenge to hone in on the here and now.

Reflecting on how God works, however, it seems to be that He is outside of time, orchestrating the very movement of our lives, and how we inch ever so closer to our final destination and purpose.

As it says in Scripture:

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet

no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

- Ecclesiastes 3:11

In other words, although God is on the move since the beginning of time, he has made his creation the recipients of his blessings, including life itself, and the gift of eternity extended to all who receive it. For us, it may be a challenge simply to face another day, or to contemplate the day gone by. However, if we are able to listen and receive all that God has in store for us, we tap into the right perspective; the one which He intends for us to have in the first place.

Our life may seem all but transient, but when we set our sights on eternity, we are moving in the right direction.
