The Tides are Turning

Have you ever been in a situation where you could sense the inevitable? In these toughest of moments, the circumstances where we find ourselves searching for change, for some semblance of reprieve, for that space in between, but only see it happen from afar, time has a way of pausing.

For me personally, it has certainly been a few months of ups and downs, as we have experienced here at ReachAcross the continuing circumstances of COVID-19, the recent floods, and now, reaching almost a third of the way through the year, with constant change, it has been deafening.

Yet, I have found a way to let my mind rest, knowing that situations beyond human power, often call for divine relief.

In the Psalms, King David, although a man familiar with power, found himself in desperation:

“Lord, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for mercy; in your faithfulness and righteousness come to my relief.”

- Psalm 143:1

Being human has its frailities, but none of us are ever meant to journey through life alone. Just when we think we cannot take another breath, it is then when we see the tide turn, and we find ourselves in a place we always wanted to be.

We can rest in the promise that God always answers us in our time of need.
